Insurance Coverage
Many insurance companies will pay for a wig if it is needed for medical hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation treatments. If this is your situation, you will need to file a claim with your insurance carrier using terminology cranial prosthesis in lieu of the term wig. When filing the claim, a prescription or letter from your medical doctor for the cranial prosthesis along with an invoice from your wig provider for a cranial prosthesis will be necessary. Contact your insurance carrier for more information.
